Organic chemistry is a central science that fuels discoveries in pharmaceutical research, biology, materials, and medicine. The ability to create new molecules with precise control and discover new reactions has and will continue to profoundly impact society. The purpose of this conference is to bring together all levels of organic chemists (research scientists, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students) from the Chicago area. With our lineup of presenters, we anticipate that the eighth symposium will spur our imaginations to continue to advance what can be achieved using organic chemistry. We hope to continue the excellence that was established in our prior editions of the Symposium and we are looking forward to welcoming you to UIC for the COS this fall!
