Plant secondary metabolites arising from the phenylpropanoid pathway have drawn significant attention due to observed biological activities with wide-ranging therapeutic potential. Here we report a unified approach targeting dimers of resveratrol and the monolignols using anodic oxidation. This strategy offers a regio-controlled approach to quickly constructing these natural products and associated analogs in a mild, tunable, and scalable fashion.
