Obtaining the 13C Spectrum

The principal steps are described in the Basic Procedures chapter and are as follows:

1. Creating a new data set.

Note: The directory (DIR) is specific to how the data are stored and therefore may show different entries as the one in the figure above. Click on the down arrow button to browse for a specific directory.

2. Sample preparation.

3. Inserting the sample plus spinner into the magnet.

4. Locking the sample.

Note: Select DMSO from the solvents table by clicking on it.

5. Tuning and matching the probe.

6. Spinning the sample.

7. Shimming.

8. Setting the probe/solvent dependent parameters.

9. Adjust the receiver gain.

10. Starting the acquisition.

11. Processing the data.
