Zinal Thakkar was awarded the Hodgkin and Huxley Neuroscience Award,
an award given to an outstanding Neuroscience major
with a GPA above 3.9 and conducted an exceptional research project.

Michael Koerner was awarded the Benjamin B. Freud Award,
for scientific excellence.
This is the oldest award in UIC Chemistry Department,
given to an exceptional chemistry major, usually in junior year.

She will attend and present her research results in a meeting in Poland in June, 2008.

Chloe Antoniou was awarded the only student poster award at EPR 2007
a Joint Conference of 12th In Vivo EPR Spectroscopy and Imaging
& 9th International EPR Spin Trapping/Spin Labeling,
Chicago, IL (April 29-May 3, 2007).
Her poster title was "Site-Directed Spin Labeling EPR Studies of the Tetramerization of Erythroid Spectrin".

Marta Witek has been awarded the Sarah Madonna Kabbes Scholarships for Undergraduate Research.
Miss Kabbes was an alumna of the Urbana-Champaign campus
and a former faculty member at UIC's Navy Pier campus.

Priyanka Rajaram is one of the two 2005-2006 Lubrizol Awardees in the Department of Chemistry.
The scholarships are awarded to junior or senior students in the degree program in Chemistry,
based primarily on established academic achievement and/or academic potential of exceptional students.

Marta Witek receives the Frances Seabright Award
for her research presentation at the Undergraduate Research Symposium
sponsored by the Aurum Iodide Chapter of Iota Sigma Pi, the National Honor Society for Women in Chemistry.
Prof. Frances Seabright was one of the original faculty members at UIC.
She was a charter member of Iota Sigma Pi and was active in the ACS for decades.
