Methods, Mechanism, and Mayhem

The Anderson Group is focused on the discovery of new reactivity and the development of new methods for the preparation of novel heterocycles and challenging organic fragments. We aim to design new and efficient transformations using simple starting materials and a combination of pericyclic reactions and transition metal catalysis to rapidly build molecular complexity. Our collaborative interests involve the application of our methods and unique heterocyclic compounds to medicinal chemistry problems through the UICentre and the use of high-throughput experimentation techniques for accelerated method development with Merck Process.
